A major producer of bearings wanted to accomplish the following at one of its manufacturing sites:

- Eliminate an aqueous process cleaning step

The bearing producer was using an aqueous process cleaner, followed by heavy oil-based, long-term corrosion preventive oil. Quaker recommended introducing FERROCOTE® , a final corrosion preventive to:
- Eliminate the process cleaner and cleaning step
- Make the handling process easier by replacing the heavy oil with the corrosion preventive
- Lower application costs
THE SOLUTION
The use of FERROCOTE® resulted in:
- Elimination of process cleaning solution, a savings of $75,000/yr
- 20% overall corrosion preventive cost reduction
- Elimination of the cleaning process transfer step, reducing labor costs by 15%
- Improved process control resulting in 1.5% fewer part rejections
